Special Event & Coffee Hour Committee
Mission
Promote fellowship by organizing Sunday service fellowship hours and assisting parish groups conducting church activities
Description of activities and special events
- Organize the volunteers for Sunday service fellowship coffee hours food, setup and cleanup
- Maintain a list of volunteers who could be called to provide food & logistic support for special activities & services like funerals
- Maintain a list of volunteers who can help other Transfiguration groups setup & breakdown chairs/tables/displays for special events (luncheons, green sale, etc.)
- Support parish care committee in identifying volunteers to bring food to those in need (home/hospital bound)
- Contrary to popular belief, committee members are not always expected to provide food or services!
- Examples of some of this past year's special events supported by volunteers:
- Retirement of our longstanding rector
- Welcoming reception for interim rector
- Dinner dance
- Funerals
Meetings
As needed, usually only for planning large celebrations. Parishoners may also serve as volunteers on-call without needing to go to any meetings
