Our Rector
.

The Rev Meg Ingalls The Rev. Margaret Ingalls is the 4th rector of Transfiguration Anglican/Episcopal Church in Silver Spring.  Meg is married to another Episcopal priest, The Rev. Brad Ingalls.   They have been married for 38 years and have two daughters, Katy—who is currently serving her country in Afghanistan, and Sarah who is going to school and working as a bridal consultant.  They have three grandchildren:  Katy’s two—Brandon and Piper, and Sarah’s Sophia.

Meg celebrated her 20th year as priest on February 17 this year. She began her calling at Holy Comforter in Richmond, VA, where she served as assistant for 3+ years and continued serving as rector at Holy Trinity in Fruitland Park, FL, for 15 years.  During that time the church was able to give wing to two new congregations and a small school dedicated to students with learning disabilities.

Since coming to Transfiguration, Meg and the vestry have been correcting property issues from refurbishing the community building and the offices to replacing furnaces and air conditioners and a roof.  Now that the plant is looking good and running well, attention is turning toward Leadership and Mission.

The theme for 2010 is “Common People, Common Worship, Uncommon Faith.”  With that in mind the goals for this year include a Leadership Summit with mini-summits throughout the year, a mission team being formed among the youth,  a food pantry for use by people of our community,  and development of summer programs and speakers.

The rector invites those of every people, race, and nation to come be a part of this diverse and exciting community of faith.
