"Us taking care of us" to promote the spiritual, emotional and physical growth of our Transfiguration Episcopal Community
Commission Activities
So that we may be for each other a community of love, compassion, and joy, Transfiguration offers many opportunities to strengthen our common life and facilitate the welcoming of new members. Through these activities, we look after one another's basic spiritual and day-to-day needs, and maintain the human connections that keep our parish together.
- Parish Care—helping each other through prayer, visitation and members in need.
- Coffee Hour—meeting, greeting and snacking all at the same time. Follows the 8:00 and 10:15 Sunday services and is sponsored entirely by volunteer groups and individuals within the church. Special luncheons and coffee hours are scheduled during the year for specific events — Prayer Breakfast, Heart Luncheon, St. Patrick's Day Luncheon, Mother's & Father's day, etc.
- Special Event support - providing space and food for such occasions as funerals, recognition of service, etc.
- Episcopal Church Women - fun, fellowship, nurturing and service for the women of the parish.
- The Men's Group - fellowship, service, counsel and communion' for the men of the parish.
- 55+ Group - fellowship and good times for this parish group.
- Membership Management - match talents with needs; phone and email tree; and other administrative and records management tasks.
