Parish Life

The heart of a parish is communal worship, but the parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant community with an exciting parish life. Our parish offers a variety of ways to be part of that communal family.

Faith formation is a vital element of our parish life as we grow in knowledge and understanding of our faith in Jesus Christ and the Church he gave us. There is Bible study, and other opportunities, such as confirmation and reaffirmation classes, that we encourage you to explore.

Participate in our parish life by assisting in worship, as a choir member, lector, etc.

Volunteer for one or more of our Mustard Seed Missions

God calls us to use our gifts and talents to glorify Him and make life better for other people. Please prayerfully consider these opportunities for getting involved in ministry. And if you have an idea for a new parish ministry, please let us know.

Fellowship

Fellowship time is a great way to be doing something and meeting people at the same time. Fellowship time follows the 10:15 a.m. service and is a lively time of chatting, catching up and enjoying refreshments.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

The women of Transfiguration participate in the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), which is also a Diocesan and National group, with a goal of being rooted in our past to move toward growing into God's future. Our purpose is to carry on Christ's work of reconciliation in the world and to take our place as leaders in the life, governance and worship of the church.

All women who are members of Transfiguration are by definition members of the Episcopal Church Women. This vital group facilitates programs and events throughout the year that focus on community outreach, parish fellowship and fundraising. Some of the favorite annual events are:

Jazz Concert
College Care Packages
Father’s Day celebration
Women Of Grace - 2 women celebrated each year with donation to their named charity
Fellowship FunRaisers
Christmas Cookie Swap and Pizza Party
Donating to Youth Sunday for Pizza

The Men's Group (TMG)

The Men’s Group functions as a social and fundraising group for men of all ages. TMG has two annual fundraising events:

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Fish Fry (usually in Sept.)

From the money made, we provide funding for the church (one year we renovated the church kitchen), college care package ministry, and youth funding. We also have a fabulous Mother’s Day tribute for the women of the parish, which gets better and better each year.

TMG graciously donated to the recent parking lot resurfacing project.
